Soots and Ladders

I had Soots n Ladders clean my chimney, repair a hole that developed in the refractory panel in my fireplace and replace the gas starter. They were prompt in getting back to me after calling for service, where upfront with all pricing and great in keeping me informed on when they were coming out. Frank was great doing the service. He made sure to check all the components on the fireplace and chimney, knew exactly what needed to be done, and repaired everything. He also gave me follow up instructions on breaking in the new panel. Frank is a very personable person and I was happy to have him in my home. I will definitely be using them in the future.

Soots N Ladders performed a free inspection of my chimney, they were much more thorough than other businesses that performed inspections for me and provided a competitive quote. Frank was knowledgeable, respectful, and suggested services based on priority. I was impressed with their work on the exterior, but not the firebox. They rebuilt nearly 10 courses of bricks, built a new concrete crown, and installed 2 new caps within 3 days of work. They did their best to match the original 70-year old brick. They also came back later to weatherproof the chimney. They did not leave a mess in my yard either time. My only quarrel is that their work in the firebox was not as good as the exterior work. As my pictures show, the lintel sealant likely won't prove to be sufficient and the sealant used on the brick, along as where it dripped, are an eyesore.
